Howard and Shane go head to head in a gruelling tennis match

Competitive Play

Intramural Tournaments

The club normally has two to four intramural doubles tournaments every season. These are normally really well attended and are often accompanied by cakes, tea, coffee and more culinary joy. The tournaments are mixed and non-mixed and their round robin format mean that everybody gets a full day of tennis. They are always lots of fun and it’s always good to get those relatively competitive juices flowing.

Intramural Singles League

If you’re interested in singles this is a great way to play regularly against different opponents of a similar standard. At the moment we have three groups of around six players. Rounds last about six weeks and at the end of each round players who win their group move up and players who come at the bottom move down. It’s a good way for players to find their level and consequently play more evenly matched opponents but it also gives player something to aim for and gauge how their own game is improving. All full members are eligible for the singles league at no extra cost on top of their membership fee.
